Notes: |
The victory suggested by the reverse design of this coin never occurred. Macrinus made concessions to the Parthians for an unconditional peace at the beginning of his reign, and he later died having suffered a severe defeat in battle against the legions under Julia Maesa and Elagabalus. NE combined in obverse legend. OV combined in reverse legend. Last three letters of reverse legend inverted. |
